¿What is Thalassotherapy?
“Thalassotherapy has simultanious uses, under medical supervisión and with the objective to heal and prevent, using elements from the marine universe: climate, sea water, marine muds, algaes and other substances found in the sea “internacional federation of thalassotherapy”
Whats the difference?:
Thalassotherapy and Balneotherapy
Both use the same techniques – baths, showers – but balneotherapy uses spring water, never sea water.
Thalassotherapy and Spas
Spas use normal water, no therapeutic advantages, only to influence comfort and relaxation. In the rehabilitation services, they employ hydrotherapy for people with legions or disabilities, helping them to increase their capacity to move and makes the rehabilitation process slightly easier, using the feeling of antigravity once immersed...
¿Talasotherapy, Thalasotherapy, Thalassotherapy? Different names for in reality the same thing. From the greek Word “Thalasso” water of the sea and “terapeia”, therapy, was created initially from the english Word “Thalassotherapy”, from this the spanish version of “Thalassoterapia” is made

· Mar Menor Muds: The therapeutical properties container in our marine muds have been used for many years, philosophers in the year (460-331 B.C) already recommended it as treatment for its contents of mineral irons for health
The particular climitalogical properties of the Mar Menor which has a high porcentage of sun throughout the year and a high level of salt, has meant that an area called the “little point” has been created for the production of its famous muds which contain a large amount of cations, calcium, magnesium, potassium, fluoride, chloride and sulfate, the true architects of healing properties.
Used in the form of a massage in Thalasia, it is one of our fundamental elements for our treatments
· The virtudes of Sea Water: Balance, born from the sea
· Sea water contains more than 80 fundemental elements and a special concentration of calcium iron, magnesium, sodium, silicon iodine and other trace elements. The phenomena of osmosis at a temperature between 35 º and 37º and facilitated by the mechanical water massage, these bioelements penetrate the body, strengthening or recuperating your balance. Also due to its hight density, sea water posseses an elevated hydrostatic power that stimulates the blood circulation, contributing to muscle relaxation and proportions all of the advantages due to the lower gravity allowing greater mobility of the body.
· Thalassotherapy in Thalassia: The water used in Thalasia is extracted from over 1000m off the coast and about 6m deep thanks to sofiticated extraction process through a complex system of filtres. It preserves the excepcional conditions whilst being under a strict sanitary control and constant renovation, which is in turn sent directly to our swimming pools and cabin treatment areas..
